Mold Lubrication

Post by jcoatter » Tue Mar 12, 2019 1:53 pm

Looking for suggestions on the best lubrications (brands and types) to use on injection molds for clear or white parts? We are having issues with grease bleeding out from the ejector pins and sleeves.

we use a clear grease from PPE, this is the part # FMG07 7 lb. pail (1 gal.) We do not have bleed out issues with this grease. We use the PPE ejector pin lube for the ejector pins part# SPRAY NO. EPL-925. The key to to make sure the people applying the grease understand you only need a thin film of grease, do not smear a lot on the leader pins and slides.

We use Slide brand "Super Grease" and Krytox grease by Chemours (previously Dupont) Krytox is expensive but does a really nice job.

Similar question regarding mold lubricants. We are molding PEEK material with mold temperatures around 400°F. Any recommendations on lubricants that won't turn into tar after 4 days? Thanks in advance
