Noble Plastics – Innovation in Plastics Processes: Automation, Co-Bots and Mold Simulation
For the past 17 years, Noble Plastics has dedicated itself to being on the forefront of innovation in the plastics industry. Noble’s mission, making the product realization process pleasant and profitable, acts as a guidepost for all the company’s endeavors. The Grand Coteau, LA processor has machines with tonnages ranging from 55 to 730 ton. RJG’s E-Dart and IQMS’s real-time modules are implemented in all their presses and automation is the standard inside the facility.
Robots are in no short supply at Noble Plastics, including 15 Fanuc 6-axis-robots. In the facility’s 100,000 square feet, robotics are used for machine tending for pre-and post-production processes, inspection operations and consistent handling and placement of the finished product and automation allows for enhanced product quality, production efficiency and throughput while controlling costs. If standard, commercial machinery won’t do the job, Noble has also been known to design and sell specialized pieces of robotic machinery for their customers’ manufacturing requirements.
The diverse team at Noble Plastics also utilizes mold simulation software during various stages of projects. This software allows the Noble team to reduce the need for prototypes, avoid potential manufacturing defects and get products to market faster. Mold Simulation is used during part design, tool design and molding process optimization. It is this combination of innovative practices, along with a culture of continuous improvement and education that allowed Noble Plastics to be named one of the top 25 World-Class Processors by Plastics Technology Magazine, along with receiving several other awards from organizations like Junior Achievement and Louisiana Economic Development.
What to Expect:
