  • 11:00am - IoT and Industry 4.0
    • Presented by Steve Bieszczat of IQMS & Scott Rogers of Noble Plastics
    • By now most manufacturers are fully aware of the fundamental concepts of IoT and are using IoT based solutions deployed in their factories and homes.  In this webinar, Scott and Steve will review the history of IoT and highlight several of today’s mainstream use cases.  Next, the discussion will transition into IoT’s growth beyond the original idea of a smart device interacting with a control device or person.  This part of the discussion will explain how IoT is evolving into dynamic information links between individuals, teams and systems and the role of IoT within the broader context of Industry 4.0 which is moving beyond a relatively static point to point links and maturing into viral information networks where things, controls, smart software and people all interact to execute manufacturing goals. Scott will describe/demonstrate the Industry 4.0 foundation Noble Plastics has built and is now using in its facilities.

  • 1:00pm - Resolving Processing and Part Performance Issues by Changing Materials
    • Presented by Dr Cliff Watkins and Jeremy Bland, Polysource

    • Many times, too many times, processors will bang there head against the wall trying to resolve processing and part performance issues by adjusting and changing processing parameters. Despite these efforts, the issues still exist. Unfortunately, the processors customer, the OEM, will make this the processors issue, where in fact the issue is the material being used. No processing changes can resolve the issues. The issues can range from long extended cycle time, part warpage, flash, sticking, short shots, surface blemishes or imperfections, ETC.  This webinar will show case examples where processors struggled with resolving issues and where changing material was the ultimate solution.
  • 3:00pm - Getting the most out of your top entry injection molding robot; think “inside” the box plus so much more
    • Presented by Joe Varone, Wittman Battenfeld
    • Is your robot under-utilized? How can you get the most out of your robot beyond pick and place?  This will be discussed in-depth during this webinar; brought to you by Wittmann Battenfeld. Work process evaluation, pre-packaging value-added required and the press-side goal to get the parts inside the box. This session is created to help you utilize your robot and process to its optimal cost savings potential.
