By now most manufacturers are fully aware of the fundamental concepts of IoT and are using IoT based solutions deployed in their factories and homes. In this webinar, Scott and Steve will review the history of IoT and highlight several of today’s mainstream use cases. Next, the discussion will transition into IoT’s growth beyond the original idea of a smart device interacting with a control device or person. This part of the discussion will explain how IoT is evolving into dynamic information links between individuals, teams and systems and the role of IoT within the broader context of Industry 4.0 which is moving beyond a relatively static point to point links and maturing into viral information networks where things, controls, smart software and people all interact to execute manufacturing goals. Scott will describe/demonstrate the Industry 4.0 foundation Noble Plastics has built and is now using in its facilities.
Presented by Dr Cliff Watkins and Jeremy Bland, Polysource
